Understanding Your Electric Bill

The red circles on the bill have their explanation listed below the bill. 

1. Your Account Number - please refer to this number when calling for any assistance. Write your account number on the enclosed kitchen magnet for a quick reference.
2. Area in which to record the meter reading each month - enter current readings on the lines corresponding with the correct meter.
3. Determination of main and off-peak kilowatt usage - the amount of kilowatt-hours used during the billing period.
4. Main meter billing calculations - detailed breakdown of the charges for the month.
5. Off-peak meter billing calculations - detailed breakdown of the charges for the month.
6. Usage comparison to last year - detailed columns with kilowatt usage compared to same month last year.
7. Total current charges - detailed breakdown of the charges for the month.
8. Amount to pay each month - this is the full amount including all current charges, adjustments, and unpaid previous charges
